This course examines the legal and ethical obligations of professional reporters when identifying and reporting child neglect, which comprises more than three-quarters of child protective services reports yet is least likely to be substantiated. Participants will learn to distinguish between different types of child neglect—including physical, medical, and educational neglect—while exploring key issues around parental supervision and corporal punishment. The course offers practical intervention strategies for working with families facing neglect allegations.
