Preparing Family Caregivers Assisting Those with a Serious Illness or Terminal Condition for the Death and Bereavement Experience

This interactive workshop focuses on preparing family caregivers of persons with serious or terminal illness for the death and bereavement experience. Using the Stress-Coping Model and caregiver-centered therapeutic approaches, the session covers three dimensions of preparation—emotional, cognitive, and practical—to help informal providers enhance their readiness and maintain mental health during caregiving and bereavement.
