CNAs in California must complete a total of 48 hours of In-Service Training/Continuing Education (CEs) within a two-year certification period. A minimum of 12 of the 48 hours must be completed in each year of the two-year certification period. A maximum of 24 of the 48 hours may be obtained through an approved online training program.
